HOMEstretch was founded in 2019 by Derek Shewmon and Nick Lobert, two Cincinnati-born entrepreneurs. Nick and Derek were childhood friends and ended up working together at the same company in Cincinnati, Ohio that focused on helping homeowners sell unneeded items through an online auction platform. While working with clients and realtors, Nick and Derek noticed that the clients who were moving not only had a need to monetize items that were no longer needed, but also needed help preparing their home to sell.
This observation led Nick and Derek to start HOMEstretch, a single solution to help homeowners and realtors do all the necessary cosmetic improvements needed to get a house ready to sell.
HOMEstretch had humble beginnings. The service offerings were focused on clear outs, painting, and cleanings. Nick, Derek, and Nick’s truck did all the work themselves which allowed them to understand the client and realtor’s needs inside-and-out as well as refine the processes to make HOMEstretch scalable.
The concept caught on quickly as homeowners and realtors were starved for a reliable, single solution to quickly prep homes for sales. Nothing like HOMEstretch existed, and realtors were tired of managing multiple, unreliable vendors in tight timelines and stressful situations.
The HOMEstretch brand is now associated with being a leader in the home preparation market by providing exceptional customer service, great communication, and speed in delivering its offerings to clients and realtors.
