Welcome Aboard: KidStrong
KidStrong is a rapidly growing children’s franchise that blends physical education with character development to help kids build confidence, strength, and social skills. Founded in 2015 by Matt and Makenna Sharp, along with former collegiate strength coach Patrick Hummel, KidStrong began as a small program aimed at helping their daughter develop confidence and resilience. What started as a simple concept in their garage quickly evolved into a structured training system that combined elements of fitness, education, and child development. The founders’ goal was to create an environment where kids could grow not just physically, but also mentally and emotionally.
The program is designed for children ages 1 to 11 and focuses on three core pillars: brain, body, and character. Through weekly classes, kids participate in age-appropriate activities led by certified coaches, learning important life skills like goal setting, teamwork, leadership, and perseverance. KidStrong has since expanded into a franchise model with locations across the United States, attracting parents looking for a results-driven alternative to traditional sports or daycare. The brand’s unique blend of science-backed curriculum and high-energy coaching continues to resonate with families, making KidStrong a standout in the children’s enrichment and fitness space.
