Square Cow Moovers was founded in March 2008 by the Lombard family—Wayne, his son Wade, and his son-in-law Derek. After relocating to the Austin, Texas area in late 2007 to be closer together, the family decided to pursue business ownership and ultimately launched a moving company. With just a quirky name, two trucks, and three family members, they started serving their community. Their growth philosophy was simple yet effective: take on “just one more move,” hire “one more driver,” add “one more truck,” and eventually open “one more branch.” This patient, steady approach became the backbone of their expansion.
From the beginning, Square Cow Moovers built its reputation on family values, Southern hospitality, and integrity. The company culture reflects a mix of hard work and care, with a unique morning ritual called “The Square” bringing team members together to reinforce connection, culture, tactical alignment, and safety. What started as a small family effort soon became known for treating customers’ belongings with the same care they would their own, creating a trusted name in the moving industry.
Over the years, Square Cow Moovers has grown from a local startup into a multi-state operation. Today, the company operates numerous branches, employs hundreds of people, and completes thousands of moves annually. Their services have expanded to include local and long-distance moving, commercial relocations, packing, storage, and specialized senior moves. Despite this growth, the company has remained committed to its original mission—delivering moves with courtesy, honesty, excellence, and good old-fashioned hard work.
