It’s Time to Get Angry

Our CEO and Chief Scientist, Rebecca Monet recently spoke with 1851 Magazine regarding COVID-19 and why so many are feeling angry. In a nutshell here are her thoughts.

Anger has two primary sources.

Fear which causes a fight, flight or freeze syndrome. This is not usually a resourceful place for a business owner to be. Or anger can stem from and/or be turned into feelings of injustice which when harnessed can cause great good.

Mother’s Against Drunk Driving (MADD) is a classic example of taking a mother’s anger and turning into a statement of injustice and doing something positive. No doubt Candy Lightner, the founder of MADD was angry when a drunk driver killed her daughter Cari.

But Candy Lightner took her anger and saw the REAL injustice: lack of awareness of alcoholism, drunk driving and worst of all lax laws around driving under the influence. She transformed her anger into powerful feelings of injustice and decided to right the wrong.

We can do the same during this COVID-19. Get angry. See the injustice stemming from government trying to take away our freedoms and destroy the last bastion of the free enterprise system. Rise up. We are franchising.
