Scooter’s Coffee was founded in 1998 by Don and Linda Eckles in Bellevue, Nebraska. The inspiration behind the creation of Scooter’s Coffee came from their desire to serve high-quality coffee quickly and efficiently in a drive-thru format, which was a relatively new concept at the time.
Don and Linda Eckles were inspired by the growing coffee culture and the convenience of drive-thru service. They envisioned a place where customers could get premium coffee without the need to leave their cars. The idea was to create a fast, friendly, and convenient coffee experience that catered to busy lifestyles. They named the business “Scooter’s” to reflect this emphasis on speed and convenience.
Realizing the potential of their business model, Don and Linda decided to franchise Scooter’s Coffee in 2001. The franchising approach allowed for rapid expansion while maintaining the quality and consistency of their brand. They focused on partnering with franchisees who shared their passion for coffee and commitment to customer service.
As of today, Scooter’s Coffee has grown to over 500 locations across the United States, with a strong presence in the Midwest and continued expansion into new regions. The company has become known for its friendly service, high-quality coffee, and convenient drive-thru experience.
